New York City runs on brunch. It’s the sacred weekend ritual — the slow morning, the perfect eggs, the people-watching that could fill a novel.
After years of exploring every borough, here are my absolute favorites.
Manhattan Must-Tries
Clinton St. Baking Company — Their blueberry pancakes have a cult following for a reason. Go early or expect a wait, but it’s worth every minute.
Jack’s Wife Freda — Mediterranean-inspired brunch in a space that feels like your coolest friend’s apartment. The shakshuka is legendary.
Brooklyn Gems
Sisters — Clinton Hill neighborhood spot with a rotating menu and the kind of warm, unhurried vibe that makes you want to stay all afternoon.
L’industrie Pizzeria — Okay, technically pizza, but their morning slice with a cappuccino is a Brooklyn rite of passage.
My Brunch Rules
- Never skip the coffee. NYC coffee culture is half the experience.
- Share plates. More dishes = more joy.
- Dress up a little. Brunch is an occasion.
- Tip generously. These servers are artists.
